About Us

Meet The Director

Olivia Skillern, Theatre Director, is thrilled to be working with the talented students and staff at Grissom High School.

After attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham and earning a BA in Theatre and Marketing, Skillern began working professionally in the Birmingham theatre community as a scenic artist, actor, and props master. Upon returning to her native city of Huntsville, Ms. Skillern had the honor of working as a teaching artist at Fantasy Playhouse Children's Theatre, while also serving as the Technical Director at Huntsville High School.

Leading the Grissom Theatre program as well as the Musical Theatre program is a dream come true for Ms. Skillern. Grissom Theatre has a long history of producing great theatre as well as kind well-rounded students. Theatre was a major part of Ms. Skillern’s high school experience and she is so excited to share her love for the arts with her students. Ms. Skillern cannot wait for you to experience what all Grissom Theatre has to offer!
